Medical Assisting Adjunct Professor

South Puget Sound Community College is seeking highly motivated and qualified candidates for the position of adjunct or part-time faculty members in Medical Assisting. As a member of our faculty team, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our students.
Responsibilities- Create and facilitate contextualized and integrated learning experiences in Medical Assisting that align with college pathways and career goals.
- Develop authentic assessments of students' knowledge, skills, and abilities in Medical Assisting that measure course, program, and college-wide outcomes.
- Teach course(s) in accordance with college catalog, schedule of classes, course outlines, course syllabi, and departmental guidelines.
- Apply multiple teaching and learning strategies that promote the affective, cognitive, and kinesthetic domains of learning.
- Participate in student retention efforts by supporting students in and out of the classroom, directing them to campus services and resources.
- Support the college's mission by creating a work environment of mutual respect and fairness, encouraging creative and critical thinking.
- Contribute to the appreciation of diversity and foster a climate of multicultural understanding.
- Associate of Applied Science in Medical Assisting with current National certification as a Certified Medical Assistant and an MA-C credential from the Washington State Department of Health.
- Three years of experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant.
- Demonstrated experience or participation with persons from diverse backgrounds, including sexual orientation, racial, ethnic, religious, linguistic, gender, age, socio-economic, physical, and learning abilities, and a commitment to an inclusive and equitable working/learning environment.
- Experience with online education.
- Experience as a mentor, preceptor, clinical instructor, adjunct faculty, or other role of responsibility with students and/or new medical assisting graduates.
