Medical Assistant Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Medical Assistant to join our team at AB Staffing Solutions. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing healthcare services to inmates in a corrections setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review health records prior to medical exams.
  • Prepare inmate patients for examination by taking vital signs, performing Snellen exams, height/weight measurements, pregnancy screening, and other data collection as needed.
  • Assist with intake and screening of new jail bookings.
  • Transcribe medical orders and input data.
  • Clean and stock treatment areas.
  • Administer one-time doses of medication ordered by prescribers, including oral and injectable medications.
  • Perform venipuncture and collect and prepare other lab specimens as ordered.
  • Perform electrocardiogram (EKG's), tuberculosis skin testing (PPD), blood glucose monitoring, and routine treatments.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience in front and back office settings.
  • BLS Certification or ability to obtain.
  • Clean background check upon hire.
