Aeronautical Engineer Sr.

We are seeking a highly skilled Aeronautical Engineer Sr. to join our Central Engineering Missile Aerodynamics team at Lockheed Martin. As a key member of our team, you will provide technical support and direction to various missile programs, focusing on the modeling and simulation of hypersonic flight vehicles.
Key Responsibilities- Apply state-of-the-art computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools to design and analyze flight vehicles, performing basic CAD geometry manipulation, meshing, and post-processing results.
- Have a strong understanding of various fluid flow phenomena, including compressibility, turbulence, and heat transfer.
- Perform analyses related to missile launch vehicle systems, re-entry bodies, and satellites using various modeling and simulation methods and analytical techniques.
- Author technical memos and provide recommendations to data packages to support peer and customer reviews, and present analysis results to internal engineering teams, customer technical representatives, and Program Office personnel.
- Professional work experience in thermophysics, heat transfer, aerodynamics, fluid mechanics, and computer programming.
- Experience in modeling, simulation, analysis, or experimentation of high-speed aerodynamics.
- Thermal analysis experience in the aerospace industry.
- Experience in leading or supervising research activities.
- Must have at least an Interim Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- Experience or a strong educational background in hypersonic aerodynamics, gas dynamics, computational fluid dynamics, and computer programming (C/C++, Matlab, Python).
- Experience with solvers used by NASA for entry vehicles, e.g., FUN3D, Loci/CHEM.
- Prior experience developing and analyzing hypersonic thermochemically reacting flow fields.
- Strong mathematical and analytic skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
