In the role of Thermal Systems Engineer, you will conduct both preliminary and in-depth thermal evaluations of missile components, subsystems, and integrated systems.

Your responsibilities will include comprehensive modeling of the entire missile system, including ground support systems, throughout its lifecycle using standardized methodologies and tools (such as NX, SindaFluent, Thermal Desktop, etc.).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering technical documentation and recommendations to support peer and customer evaluations
  • Presenting analysis results to design and engineering teams, customer representatives, and program management during technical discussions and formal reviews
  • Interpreting and implementing program requirements effectively
  • Providing thermal engineering support for Thermal Vacuum (TVAC) testing
  • Collaborating with various engineering disciplines in a dynamic environment to develop cost-effective thermal control solutions that meet manufacturing and quality standards.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Professional experience in areas such as Thermophysics, Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics, Aerodynamics, and programming
  • Proficiency in thermal analysis and software tools including NX, Thermal Desktop, SINDA, TSS
  • Understanding of requirements development and management
  • Experience in leading teams, coaching, or training in thermal principles
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Background in mechanical engineering principles
  • A Secret clearance is required; US Citizenship is mandatory.
Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field, with 7-9 years of relevant experience

5+ years of experience in:
thermophysics, heat transfer, aerodynamics, gas dynamics, propulsion, computational fluid dynamics, and programming.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Active Secret or higher security clearance issued by the DoD or another agency.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance; US Citizenship is necessary for consideration.
