Program Overview:
The Washington Migrant and Asylum-Seeker Support Project, known as the WA MASS Project, is an initiative from the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services' (DSHS) Office of Refugee and Immigrant Assistance (ORIA). The aim of this project is to establish a comprehensive network of organizations that can effectively address the immediate and specific needs of newly arrived migrants and asylum seekers.

Position Overview:
The Coordinator of Asylum Services plays a pivotal role in understanding the lived experiences of asylum seekers, including their migration journey and the challenges they encounter in accessing protection and services. This position is responsible for supervising the provision of integrated resource navigation and referrals for recently arrived asylum seekers and other eligible migrants in Washington State.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the implementation of a tailored intake, assessment, and emergency triage process to determine eligibility and referral pathways for asylum seekers.
2. Manage daily intake, assessment, emergency triage, and resource navigation activities, including supervising Asylum Services Navigators.
3. Provide training, supervision, and support for Asylum Services Navigators.
4. Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) to deliver successful program outcomes and maintain a safe, supportive environment for clients, staff, and volunteers.
5. Safeguard program data, monitor quality, and utilize it to enhance reception services for asylum seekers and support donor reporting as needed.
6. Collaborate with the Sector Manager in contract management as required.
7. Share best practices in humanitarian reception through external networks to improve the quality of services across Washington State.
8. Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Experience: 3-4 years of relevant experience
Licensure, Certification: Degree in Social Work, Migration Studies, or a related field preferred
Additional Language: Bilingual ability preferred in relevant Washington State refugee/immigrant language (Particularly: Spanish, Dari, Arabic, Swahili, Russian or Ukrainian)
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong cross-cultural understanding, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications are essential.

Working Conditions:
This position operates in a hybrid setting with a stable work schedule. The environment is well-protected, with minimal hazards, and the role requires some decision-making abilities under limited supervision. The job involves regular communication and collaboration with various stakeholders.
