Healthcare Registration Specialist

As a Healthcare Registration Specialist at R1, you will be responsible for helping patients check into the hospital. You will work in a fast-paced environment, often on your feet assisting patients complete their registration. Your goal will be to collect patient and insurance information accurately and quickly while also building trust with our patients by listening with compassion.

About the Role

In this role, you will work across multiple screens collecting details that must be input correctly between physician and nurse check-ins. You should feel comfortable working across multiple programs and typing as quickly as patients can talk. You will also work around clinicians interrupting the registration process for emergent clinical care.

You will ask follow-up questions and build rapport in real time, easing the anxiety of our patients who may be very ill or worried. While collecting patient and insurance information may seem straightforward, there is a lot of variation in health plans and coverage, which requires knowledge through training. You must work quickly and expect the unexpected.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Excellent customer service experience
