Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Regency Senior Living. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to our residents and supervise and guide our clinical staff members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Document Resident Care: Accurately document the resident's condition and nursing needs, ensuring that all relevant information is recorded and communicated to the healthcare team.
  • Implement Physicians' Orders: Promptly and accurately implement physicians' orders, ensuring that all necessary treatments and medications are administered in a timely manner.
  • Supervise and Guide Staff: Supervise, direct, and evaluate junior staff members and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), providing guidance and support to ensure that they are meeting the needs of our residents.
  • Administer Medications and Treatments: Administer medications and perform treatments for assigned residents, documenting all necessary information in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Participate in Orientation and Training: Participate in orientation and in-service training for personnel, ensuring that all staff members are up-to-date on the latest procedures and protocols.
  • Ensure Safe and Clean Environment: Ensure that supplies are utilized economically and that equipment is clean and maintained in a safe manner, promoting a safe and healthy environment for our residents.
  • Report and Record Observations: Report and record pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents, ensuring that all necessary information is documented and communicated to the healthcare team.
  • Coordinate Care with Other Departments: Coordinate nursing care of residents when scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Respond to Emergencies: Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in residents, providing prompt and effective care in emergency situations.
  • Participate in Counseling and Disciplinary Action: Participate in counseling, disciplinary action, and termination of staff, to the extent permitted by the state practice act.
  • Supervise Nursing Unit/Hall: Supervise the nursing unit/hall, including scheduling and directing staff to the extent permitted by state practice act.
  • Promote Interpersonal Relationships: Promote interpersonal relationships and develop staff morale, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Ensure Inventory and Supplies: Ensure that inventory and supplies are maintained on the unit/hall, communicating the need for housekeeping, maintenance, and dietary assistance as necessary.
  • Respond to Resident Call Lights: Answer resident call lights and ensure that all residents are checked frequently, providing prompt and attentive care.
Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: Graduate of accredited LPN/LVN School of Nursing, valid LPN/LVN license in this state, and valid CPR certification. One year of experience in nursing is preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Skilled in motivating and directing the workforce, ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team, ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations.
  • Customer Service Requirements: Solicits resident/family feedback to understand their needs and the needs of the community, work efforts reflect a passion for exceeding customer expectations, and demonstrates commitment to interpersonal excellence through professional greetings, proper telephone etiquette, common courtesy, a professional attitude, and appearance.
