Job Description

Job Title: Appointment Coordinator

Reports To: Scheduling Team Lead

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY:
Responsible for managing incoming calls, organizing and adjusting appointments, confirming schedules, and directing inquiries to the appropriate departments. This role may include remote work options and is subject to all current vaccine mandates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Handles incoming calls for the scheduling department.
2. Coordinates and modifies patient appointments, ensuring all patients are informed of our narcotic prescription policy and any necessary updates to their sliding scale information.
3. Performs additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To excel in this position, candidates must effectively fulfill each essential duty. The following qualifications are essential:
- Proficient in clinical quality assurance.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and document results.
- Capable of interpreting and applying guidelines and procedures.
- Demonstrates sound judgment and reasoning abilities.
- Maintains composure in emergency situations.
- Establishes and nurtures effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic arithmetic knowledge.
- Proficient in computer operations and keyboarding.
- Familiar with chronic disease care protocols and standards.
- Collaborates closely with medical providers to track and facilitate patient visits.
- Identifies patients needing intervention for routine and chronic disease care.
- Monitors patient progress.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma required. Certification or degree as a Medical Assistant is preferred. Must be licensed as an LPN in the State of Georgia. A minimum of two years of experience in a medical office setting is desired.

LANGUAGE ABILITIES:
Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from the public. Bilingual skills (Spanish) are a plus.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to identify and contribute to the resolution of problems as they arise.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid driver's license and current CPR certification are required.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
Proficient in operating a computer and utilizing various software applications.
