Senior Automation Engineer

As a key player in this mission, we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Engineer to join our team.
Job SummaryWe're looking for a seasoned automation expert to lead and implement solutions that enable the operation and characterization of our advanced electrolyzers. You'll be responsible for designing and developing scalable, cost-optimized solutions for green hydrogen production, from prototype to scale.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Automation Solutions: Design and implement architectures and designs for scalable process control and testing, ensuring seamless integration with our electrolyzer systems.
- Design and Build Novel Equipment: Develop and build novel equipment and systems to support R&D operation and testing of electrochemical systems, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
- Process Design and Documentation: Create and maintain P&ID's and process diagrams for systems, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Supplier Selection and Management: Specify requirements, select, and source suppliers/partners for components and systems, ensuring quality and reliability.
- Prototype Deployment and Field Support: Deploy prototypes to the lab and products to the field, providing technical support and guidance as needed.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in design and commission of automation and controls systems for industrial applications.
- High Pressure and Gas Control Systems: Experience with high pressure and gas and fluid control systems and ASTM ASME standards, ideally hydrogen, oxygen, DI/ultrapure water.
- High Voltage and Current Power Systems: Experience with high voltage and high current power systems.
- Fast-Paced Design and Prototyping: Experience in fast-paced iterative design and prototyping environments.
- P&ID and Electrical Schematic Experience: P&ID and electrical schematic experience.
- PLC and HMI Programming: PLC programming experience and HMI and SCADA programming experience.
- Field Bus Networks and Communication: Field bus networks, serial communication, and Ethernet communication experience.
- Electrical Control Racks and Panels: Hands-on experience building and commissioning high quality electrical control racks/panels and electro-mechanical systems.
- Industry Codes and Standards: Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 79, UL508A codes.
- Interpersonal and Collaborative Skills: Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, enthusiasm for complex problem solving, and desire to optimize systems holistically.
- Project Management and Communication: Strong project management skills and effective communication of technical concepts across multi-disciplinary teams.
