Facilities Housekeeping Coordinator at Commonwealth of Virginia

The Facilities Housekeeping Coordinator at Commonwealth of Virginia reports directly to the Director of Housekeeping and acts as the key liaison for the Facilities Housekeeping division. This role encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities aimed at supporting the team and engaging with Facilities Department personnel and stakeholders.

  • The primary goal is to assist the Director in overseeing recruitment-related tasks.
  • Organize and prepare for departmental meetings.
  • Support budget management and financial reporting.
  • Provide guidance on departmental protocols and operational procedures.
  • Contribute to various special initiatives and projects.

This position also entails managing employee-related activities, including recognition programs, tracking job vacancies, maintaining office organization, scheduling, and overseeing records management. The ideal candidate must possess a keen attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and a focus on achieving results. They should be capable of managing confidential and sensitive information with the highest level of discretion. Proficiency in standard computer applications and Microsoft software such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or a related discipline OR equivalent experience and training.
  • Experience in a similar capacity supporting a team.
  • Outstanding writing and communication abilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in standard computer applications and Microsoft software.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven administrative experience in higher education or the public sector.
  • Familiarity with university systems or relational databases.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations applicable to higher education settings.

Pay Band: 4

Appointment Type: Regular

Salary Information: $54,000; Commensurate with experience
