About the Role

The Regulatory Officer, Vice President will work closely with the Regulatory Change Management Team as a Subject Matter Expert to identify and analyze regulatory changes, ensuring timely implementation for SMBC. This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with various departments across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and analyze regulatory changes, including new laws, rules, and regulations
  • Develop and implement action plans to ensure timely implementation of regulatory changes
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Prepare and maintain regulatory documentation, including policy and procedure updates
  • Develop and track key metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of regulatory change management initiatives
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required; graduate business degree or J.D. preferred
  • Former regulator, compliance, or attorney/legal background; established relationships with industry and regulators preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory environment, including federal and state banking laws and regulations
  • Experience working with regulators, specialized regulatory consulting firms, or law firms
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively
What We Offer

SMBC offers a competitive salary range of $137,000.00 to $200,000.00, based on individual qualifications and experience. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC provides a comprehensive benefits package, including a hybrid workforce model that allows employees to work from home and from an SMBC office.
