About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fiber Engineer to join our team at KITCO Fiber Optics, Inc. in Norfolk, VA. As a Fiber Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing standard and custom fiber optic cable assemblies and related products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with customers to develop solutions to their harsh environment communications needs.
  • Analyze customer and company requirements to design and develop fiber optic cable assemblies and related products.
  • Collaborate with customers, business development, and engineering teams to integrate customer requirements and product customization/development.
  • Provide technical and engineering information to internal and external customers.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and specifications.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement of new and existing products.
  • Ensure designs are cost-effective and designed for manufacturability.
  • Work with supply chain and manufacturing departments to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure project success.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in engineering or related technical discipline or equivalent experience, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated intermediate skill with Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or related engineering drawing and schematic software.
  • Experience with SolidWorks.
  • Military and harsh environment Fiber Optic and Signal Cable experience, Coaxial product/technical experience preferred.
