Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Inside Sales Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for responding to RFQs, following up on quotes, and processing customer purchase orders.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to RFQs and market leads via phone, email, and online requests
- Follow up on quotes to increase revenue
- Process and execute customer purchase orders, retail transactions, and contracts
- Analyze contracts and purchase orders to determine if the company can execute and accept
- Manage customers' open orders
- Maintain files for quotations, purchase orders, and sales order acknowledgements
- Respond to customer planning data in adherence to supplier inventory management agreements
- Apply basic finance and accounting concepts as it applies to sales
- Understand research and apply knowledge for fiber optic cables, connectors, and tool kits
- Apply knowledge of assembly, fabrication, logistics, and related manufacturing concepts
- Keep up with industry trends and development with continuous fiber optic training
- Receive and maintain NAVSEA Terminate and Test Certification
- Prepare and execute company's complex cost analysis for clients and apply discounts accordingly
- Process returns material requests, coordinated with Quality and warehouse personnel
- Support and backup others in the customer service team, Training, and Field Service administrative support as needed
- Review and provide effective and efficient solutions for customer complaints
- Responsible for overall customer satisfaction in terms of product quality for assigned customers
- Oversee coordination of quality problem resolution with manufacturing for assigned customers
- Support outside sales in the development of new business
- Maintain existing business and present new products
- Responsible for upselling customers and prospective customers to generate new sales and grow revenue
- Answer phone calls, greet customers, and create a rapport
- Assist in scheduling of deliveries and customer pick ups
- Ability to cross reference and value engineer materials within a project
- Prepare customer information to set them up as a new customer
- Minimum of 3 years' experience with B2G and B2B sales
- Experience in ERP Systems: Costpoint preferred
- Usage of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Teams
- Type 45+ WPM
- Knowledge of navigating Government sites: EXOSTAR,, BidLink, etc.
- Knowledge of basic government contract with terms and conditions
