Position: Structural Fitter
Compensation: $28 - $35 per hour
Shifts Available: 1st and 2nd

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute layout and fitting of structural steel elements and bridge components with precision and efficiency, working independently.
  • Interpret intricate blueprints, schematics, and technical documents pertinent to structural steel and bridge fabrication.
  • Identify various steel profiles, layout and fit beams and columns, and mark weld sizes and piece identifiers accurately.
  • Utilize a range of tools and machinery, including welding equipment, grinders, cutting torches, and measuring devices to complete fitting assignments.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and project standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, including welders, fabricators, and project supervisors, to achieve project milestones and goals.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly workspace, adhering to all safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Assist in diagnosing and resolving issues during the fabrication and installation phases.


Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience as a Journeyman Fitter/Fabricator, particularly in structural steel and bridge fabrication.
  • Expertise in layout and fitting methods, with the ability to accurately interpret and implement blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of structural welding techniques and processes.
  • Capability to perform structural welding as required.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
  • Excellent communication abilities and a proven track record of effective teamwork.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Physical endurance and the capacity to work in diverse environmental conditions.
  • Certifications in AWS D1.1, AWS D1.5, and/or AWS D1.8 are advantageous.


Work Environment:
  • Our facility spans 180,000 square feet and is recognized as one of the largest steel fabrication plants in the Pacific Northwest. We are AISC certified, specializing in high-rise structures, bridges, marine projects, and other structural steel endeavors.


Shift Details:
  • Day Shift: Monday to Thursday, 4x10s, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Swing Shift: Monday to Thursday, 4x10s, $1.00 Shift Differential, 4:30 PM - 2:30 AM
