Compensation: $28 - $35 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
- Execute layout and fitting of structural steel elements and bridge components with precision and efficiency, working independently.
+ Identify various steel shapes, layout and fit beams and columns, and mark weld sizes and piece identifiers accurately.
+ Employ a range of tools and machinery, including welding equipment, grinders, cutting torches, overhead cranes, and measuring devices to perform fitting tasks.
+ Conduct thorough quality inspections on finished work to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
+ Collaborate effectively with fellow team members, including welders, fabricators, and project managers, to achieve project timelines and goals.
+ Uphold a safe and organized workspace, adhering to all safety regulations and protocols.
+ Assist in identifying and resolving issues during the fabrication and installation phases.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience as a Journeyman Fitter/Fabricator, particularly in structural steel and bridge projects.
- Expertise in layout and fitting methodologies, with the ability to accurately interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of structural welding techniques and processes.
- Capability to perform structural welding as required.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to function effectively within a team.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a dedication to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Physical endurance and adaptability to various working conditions.
- Certifications in AWS D1.1, AWS D1.5, and/or AWS D1.8 are advantageous.
Work Environment:
- The facility spans 180,000 square feet and is among the largest steel fabrication operations in the Pacific Northwest. The company holds AISC certification for high-rise buildings, bridges, marine, and other structural steel projects.
