Position Overview

Company Background:

Peraton is a leading national security organization dedicated to addressing significant global challenges. We specialize in delivering innovative solutions and technologies that safeguard our nation and allies across various domains, including land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected engineer will undertake the following tasks:

1) Develop embedded firmware for Peraton's advanced products.
2) Create embedded code for Altera FPGA devices.
3) Design PC-based software applications that enable clients to customize Peraton products for their specific needs.

Additionally, the engineer will be responsible for producing comprehensive internal design documentation and user manuals to facilitate long-term code maintenance and enhance customer experience.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

5 years of experience with a BS/BA; 3 years with an MS/MA; no experience required with a PhD.

Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C, VHDL, and Python.
  • In-depth knowledge of Altera FPGA technology and the Quartus design suite.
  • Experience with various microcontrollers and their development environments, particularly ARM Cortex.
  • Familiarity with embedded real-time operating systems.
  • Experience in circuit card design.
  • Hands-on experience in electronics development, including the use of power supplies, digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.
Additional Desired Skills:
  • Understanding of communication protocols such as Ethernet, I2C, SPI-bus, and JTAG.
  • Knowledge of video technologies, including HDMI, DisplayPort, and V-By-One, is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
Compensation Range

The typical salary range for this position is $66,000 - $106,000, reflecting the level of experience and other relevant factors.
