Job Overview

Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) is in search of skilled and enthusiastic Associate, Mid-level, or Senior Control Systems Engineers to become part of the Precision Engagement Systems (PES) division.

Our team is expanding in the domain of aircraft, missile, weaponry, and autonomous system Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) system architecture, development, integration, and testing. We are looking for dedicated engineers to contribute to a variety of programs that will deliver cutting-edge GN&C, performance evaluation, and simulation solutions to our clients. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain insight into contemporary GN&C and simulation development techniques within the Boeing organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and gather system-level requirements for Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) systems.
  • Conduct design and analysis of Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) systems, simulations, models, and tools.
  • Assist in design reviews, analyses, simulations, and component/system testing to ensure the delivery of products that meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts for operational/service anomalies and incidents related to delivered products.
  • Engage in new business development initiatives.
  • Operate under general supervision.

All work is performed onsite to comply with security standards and protocols.

Security Clearance Requirement:

This position necessitates the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is mandatory.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 1 year of engineering work experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience or coursework related to aircraft, missile, spacecraft, or autonomous platform Guidance, Navigation, or Control systems.
  • Proficiency in using Matlab/Simulink or MatrixX for system modeling for a minimum of 1 year.
  • Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Matlab for at least 1 year.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Coursework or experience in Modern and Optimal Control Theory.
  • Experience or coursework in simulation and/or system/component modeling.
  • Familiarity with Kalman Filter design and estimation techniques.
  • Experience or coursework in implementing algorithms in real-time systems.

Typical Education & Experience:

Associate Level:

Typically requires advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, along with 2 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experienced Level:

Typically requires advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, along with 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Lead Level:

Typically requires advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, along with 9 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
