About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Resources Engineer to join our team at Actalent. As a Water Resources Engineer, you will play a critical role in planning and designing projects that involve water resources management, hydrology, and hydraulics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs to plan and design projects.
  • Prepare or direct preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for projects.
  • Conduct stormwater management, drainage design, hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality modeling, and environmental permitting for roads, railroads, airports, bridges, harbors, channels, dams, irrigation systems, pipelines, and powerplants.
  • Occasional site visits to inspect construction sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards.
  • Utilize hydraulics and hydrology modeling software to analyze and evaluate the impacts of project improvements.
  • Design, analyze, and review grading plans, tributary areas, flow calculations, detention pond sizing, release rates, storm sewer and culvert capacities, and other civil site design elements.
Requirements
  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of Water Resource/Drainage Engineer experience
  • Experience with water main, sanitary, storm sewer design work, grading plans, roadway MFT design style
  • Ability to train and develop junior engineers
  • Professional Engineer in Illinois or Wisconsin Certified Flood Plain Manager (CFM) is preferred
  • Experience with IDNR, US ACOE, FEMA, IDOT or WIS DOT and local & county permitting requirements for storm water & drainage projects
  • Must be proficient in storm sewer & hydraulic modeling
  • SSA Experience with subdivision and site drainage design and review
  • Some construction experience preferred
