Job Overview

The Financial Operations Associate will be integral to the fiscal management of a private equity-backed shared service team, tasked with facilitating accounting functions across various portfolio companies. This position is well-suited for a meticulous individual with a solid background in public accounting, eager to transition into a vibrant corporate setting.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Conduct account reconciliations and verify the precision of general ledger entries.
  • Support the closing processes at month-end and year-end, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Manage and oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Ensure prompt payments and collections while resolving discrepancies with vendors and clients.
  • Engage in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting tasks.
  • Prepare variance analyses and contribute to the development of management reports.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Assist in audit preparations by compiling documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.
  • Collaborate closely with the shared service team to facilitate accounting operations across multiple portfolio companies.
  • Work in conjunction with other departments to guarantee the accuracy and completeness of financial data.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting, ideally with exposure to diverse industries.
  • Comprehensive understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel capabilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a capacity to work effectively within a team.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in shared service settings or private equity-backed firms.
  • CPA designation or progress toward certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
