CornerStone Professional Placement is seeking a Financial Operations Manager to oversee the financial and accounting functions of a distinguished client. This role encompasses the management of financial reporting, maintenance of accounting records, and the establishment of controls and budgets to minimize risk. The Financial Operations Manager will ensure compliance with GAAP and Defense Contracting Accounting standards. Reporting directly to the CEO, this position involves working in an office setting and supervising a small accounting team, while contributing significantly to the company's growth and success.

Location: Onsite
Schedule: Monday to Friday during core business hours

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate all financial and accounting operational activities.
  • Establish and uphold documented accounting policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the collection of all financial data for accurate reporting of business results.
  • Prepare and coordinate internal and external financial statements.
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Evaluate current accounting operations, suggest enhancements, and implement new procedures.
  • Oversee earned value job cost reporting and business performance metrics.
  • Manage tax planning and corporate tax reporting in collaboration with an outsourced CPA.
  • Ensure compliance with DCAA regulations and manage HR benefits through third-party providers.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in finance or accounting within a small to mid-sized business.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience (MBA preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong communication, technological, analytical, and management skills.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and experience with DCAA compliance.
  • Eligibility for ITAR and defense contract work (US Person).
  • Experience with Sage 50, Peachtree Accounting, Aerospace/Defense/Space industries, and ERP systems is advantageous.
