Insight Global is seeking a skilled Cost Engineer to enhance cost efficiency in new product development initiatives.
The selected candidate will collaborate with teams across Magnetics, Mechanical, Electrical, and Procurement sectors to pinpoint and implement cost-saving strategies.
Upon identifying viable solutions, the individual will formulate and present a comprehensive test plan to the management team, analyze results in conjunction with the data team, and execute the revised product design.
Ideal candidates should possess a strong electrical or mechanical background, coupled with the ability to discover innovative products, tools, or software that facilitate cost reductions.
Once the implementation phase is complete, the candidate will monitor the product's performance.
The majority of the responsibilities will be conducted in an office environment (80-90%), with occasional tasks performed on the manufacturing floor (10-20%).
Compensation:
$90,000-120,000

Qualifications:
- Experience with 3-phase power distribution or UPS systems
- Background in product development & testing and/or cost improvement initiatives.
- Understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) principles for electrical/mechanical assemblies and their cost implications.
- Experience in product design within the manufacturing, electrical, or magnetics sectors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Smartsheet, and other business applications.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to convey technical data/results succinctly to non-technical audiences.
