The Human Geography Division at Fathom Management LLC is dedicated to delivering a diverse range of Human Geography products to various clients within the Intelligence Community (IC), National System for Geospatial Intelligence (NSG), and Allied System Group (ASG). Our clients depend on the precise and prompt provision of these products to facilitate informed policy-making and effective mission planning. The role involves supporting operations related to the GEOINT enterprise, responding to requirements and formal requests for geospatial data.

The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in geography, research methodologies, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and data management to generate a wide array of human geography products, including detailed reports and maps. Responsibilities may encompass various production phases such as research, evaluation, data extraction, creation, quality assurance, metadata attribution, and dissemination of products. The candidate will engage in technical discussions with government representatives, partners, and contractors, focusing on Human Geography production standards and addressing feature extraction challenges.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) or the Intelligence Community's GEOINT mission.
  • Solid understanding of Human Geography principles.
  • Experience in the research and extraction of both geospatial and non-geospatial data.
  • Familiarity with imagery research and data attribution.
  • Proficient in utilizing ArcGIS Pro for data creation, management, and geo-referencing.
  • Experience in geo-enabling non-spatial datasets.
  • Ability to effectively communicate GEOINT products and services to peers and leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the cultural, political, and regional geography relevant to the assigned area.
  • Experience applying cartographic principles and geo-referencing in the development of geospatial products.
  • Background in producing and publishing GEOINT outputs.
  • Proficiency in at least one foreign language pertinent to the assigned region.
  • Experience adhering to NSG standards in product development.
  • Familiarity with open-source data processing and automation techniques.
  • Experience in data management and schema development.
  • Knowledge of Google Earth Engine (GEE).
  • Basic proficiency in Python scripting.
