We are seeking an Itinerant Teacher's Assistant to aid in the mission of Educational Opportunities for Children & Families (EOCF). In this role, you will provide support across multiple locations, assisting the Teacher in delivering a developmentally suitable early childhood education experience for children enrolled in Head Start and ECEAP programs. This position offers benefits and is scheduled for 36 hours per week. The fully qualified rate is $20.10, while the trainee rate is $19.81. The general work schedule is Monday through Friday during daytime hours.

Required Education:

A High School Diploma is required. Candidates must be willing to enroll in a program leading to a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or Washington State Initial Certificate in Early Childhood Education, to be completed within two years of hire.

Fully Qualified Education:

A current CDA certificate or Washington State Initial Certificate in Early Childhood Education.

Preferred Experience:

At least one year of experience working with groups of children aged 3 to 5 years in an early childhood environment.

* A training plan may be developed based on qualifications.

* Bilingual candidates are highly desired.

Knowledge Required:

  • Understanding of developmentally appropriate practices for children aged 3 to 5 years.
  • Familiarity with child development principles and early childhood curriculum planning.
  • Awareness of safety considerations for children and adults.

Skills Required:

  • Ability to implement established child development practices and performance standards in a comprehensive classroom setting.
  • Commitment to EOCF's mission of supporting and strengthening children and families.
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively with staff and clients from diverse cultural, socio-economic, and educational backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in preparing and managing records, reports, and other necessary documentation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
  • Skill in utilizing a team approach to resolve conflicts or challenges.
  • Demonstrated professional written and verbal communication skills; ability to receive feedback constructively and exercise sound judgment.
  • Willingness to attend relevant staff meetings and training sessions as assigned.
  • Physical capability to perform job requirements, including regular crouching, bending, kneeling, and engaging with children in both indoor and outdoor settings.
