Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Professional Service: Offer friendly, compassionate, and professional service to all patients and physical therapy staff in all interactions, including issue resolution, scheduling, new patient onboarding, insurance verification, and billing.
  • Manage Clinic Scheduling: Ensure that patients are matched with the best clinician for their needs and injury, and optimize patient flow.
  • New Patient Onboarding: Provide a warm welcome to new patients, including facility tours, data gathering, and physical therapy staff introductions.
  • Insurance Verification: Obtain verification of patient medical insurance information and manage patient insurance requirements, informing patients of insurance benefits and options for payments on account.
  • Communication Coordination: On behalf of physical therapists, coordinate communication with physicians, nurse case managers, adjusters, and attorneys regarding patient progress.
  • Patient Expectations: Assist with managing patient expectations based on clinical findings, including frequency and duration of treatment, progression toward functional goals, and discharge planning.
  • Cultural Moments: Organize cultural moments, such as patient goal celebrations, in concert with the clinical team to recognize and appreciate patients.
  • Administrative Support: Execute and reinforce administrative and patient experience Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best practices within the clinic.
  • General Office Support: Provide general office, receptionist, and clerical support to assigned location.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge and Technical Skills: Excellent customer service skills, proficiency with MS Office, Outlook, and Excel, knowledge of healthcare insurance benefits and coverage, and experience with requesting and managing customer payments.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently, with Spanish speaking preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to fulfill office activities, including remaining stationary for extended periods, stooping, kneeling, crouching, traveling around the office, communicating with others, and using fine motor skills.
  • Work Environment: Consistent with a standard office environment, with low noise levels and minimal extraordinary environmental factors.
