The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control is seeking a highly skilled Staff Services Manager I to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and assigning work for a group of Licensing Representatives within a regionalized area.
Key Responsibilities- Direct and supervise clerical staff within your regionalized area
- Instruct and advise Licensing Representatives on licensing activities related to the Alcoholic Beverage Control laws
- Make and evaluate recommendations for issuance or denial of licenses
- Provide interpretation and application of the provisions of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Act and the rules and regulations of the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control
The work environment is moderate, with occasional field work required. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining a state vehicle and possessing a valid driver's license. You will also be required to drive long distances in all types of weather and driving conditions.
Requirements- Ability to work with multiple levels of staff and management
- Knowledge and experience researching, analyzing, and interpreting policies, laws, regulations, and legislation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical, organizational, and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively prepare and proofread written documents, including formal products
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including experience with directing, coaching, mentoring, and developing staff
