Job Summary:

As a Certified Nurse Anesthetist at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality anesthesia care to patients undergoing various surgical, obstetrical, and other procedures. Under the medical supervision of an Anesthesiologist, you will administer general and regional anesthesia, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients of all ages.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pre-Operative Evaluation: Conduct thorough interviews and examinations of patients to assess their medical history and identify potential risks.
  • Anesthetic Selection: Collaborate with the Anesthesiologist to select the most appropriate anesthetic for each patient based on their pre-operative examination.
  • Monitoring and Management: Continuously monitor patients' vital signs and respond to emergencies related to airway management and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Post-Operative Care: Evaluate patients' post-operative condition and take necessary actions to maintain their stability.
  • Education and Training: Precept student nurse anesthetists and maintain a high level of clinical expertise.
  • Compliance and Quality: Uphold Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures, as well as applicable state and federal laws, to ensure the highest standards of care.
Requirements:
  • Education: Graduate of an educational program in Nurse Anesthesia accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs and Schools.
  • License and Certification: Registered Nurse License (California) and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (California) certification.
  • Advanced Life Support: Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support certifications.
  • Additional Skills: Experience in anesthesia for major procedures involving extensive monitoring and fluid, blood, and electrolyte replacement for various age group patients.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience: Previous experience in anesthesia care, particularly in a hospital setting.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
