Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our team at Marion County. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will provide assessment and treatment services to individuals and families with complex needs and diagnoses. You will work in a fast-paced environment, providing crisis intervention and treatment services to adults in custody at the Marion County Correctional Facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide intensive case coordination, including triage, crisis intervention, and referral to jail psychiatric prescriber as appropriate for consumers who are in jail.
  • Provide triage and functional assessments of mental health, addiction, and violence risk issues to adults in custody (AIC) that include a provisional multi-axial diagnosis and interventions as well as long-term and short-term treatment and intervention recommendations that promote victim/community safety and continuity of care.
  • Drive a motor vehicle to attend meetings and staff meetings throughout county agencies.
  • Provide traditional counseling services as appropriate.
  • CAMS Brief Counseling for clients on a limited, as-needed basis.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, recreational therapy, music therapy, art therapy, or a behavioral science field.
  • One year of postgraduate degree experience in the behavioral health field.
  • Must be licensed by the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors, licensed by the Oregon Board of Licensed Social Workers, or credentialed or registered through the Mental Health and Addiction Counseling Board of Oregon (MHACBO) as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Must obtain CAMS certification within 6 months of hire.
Working Conditions

This is a safety-sensitive/special needs position. Final candidates selected for this position will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen, including testing for marijuana.

Marion County offers a generous benefits package to regular employees working 50% or more of the regularly scheduled work week and their eligible dependents. Temporary employees and part-time regular employees working less than 50% of the regularly scheduled work week are not eligible for benefits.
