Your Role:

As an Inpatient Phlebotomist at Salem Health, you will play a critical role in the laboratory testing process, collecting blood samples from patients in various settings, including emergency departments, inpatient units, and pre-surgery areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect blood samples from patients using various techniques, including venipuncture, arterial puncture, and skin puncture.
  • Perform bedside testing in a variety of settings, including emergency departments, inpatient units, and pre-surgery areas.
  • Process and transport blood samples to the laboratory for testing.
  • Work collaboratively with laboratory staff, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth patient care.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of an accredited phlebotomy program or adequate draw/work experience creating eligibility to sit for a nationally recognized certification exam required.
  • One (1) year of phlebotomy experience or successful completion of a phlebotomy school program.
  • Clinical rotation at Salem Health preferred.
  • National recognized Phlebotomy Certificate or agrees to obtain at individual's own expense within six (6) months of hire date.
