Your Role: In this position, you will be an integral part of our team on the Surgical Intermediate Care Unit (SIMU), a 12-bed inpatient unit dedicated to caring for adult patients with complex surgical needs. This fast-paced environment requires a compassionate approach to patient care, ensuring optimal recovery through effective monitoring and nursing interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with personal care to facilitate recovery during their hospital stay.
- Perform basic nursing tasks as directed by a Registered Nurse (RN) in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Ensure a safe environment and the safe delivery of care.
- Support administrative functions as needed.
- Maintain required skills and competencies.
- Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Compensation: The position offers a competitive hourly wage starting at $23.82, along with a $4,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates who commit to a 12-month tenure.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: No prior experience is required.
- Licensure: Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification is mandatory. Candidates must also be certified to practice as a Nurse Aide in Virginia or meet specific educational or experiential criteria.
Physical Requirements: The role involves frequent bending, lifting, and the ability to handle weights of 20-50 lbs. Candidates may be exposed to various health-related environments.
