Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at the University of Virginia. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care and support to patients and families in an ambulatory setting.
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Collect and record patient data, including vital signs and medical history.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by healthcare providers.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and policies.
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Current certification as a Nurse Aide in the Commonwealth of Virginia or passage of a nationally recognized and accredited PCT Certification exam.
- EMT certification or currently enrolled student nurses who have successfully completed the Medical/Surgical Clinical Experience and Didactic.
- Ability to lift/push/pull 100lbs and frequently bend/stoep.
This position requires frequent bending/stooping and driving. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
