Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a Patient Care Technician, you will provide a variety of patient care and administrative support functions under the supervision of a Health Care Provider in an ambulatory setting.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in assuring effective and efficient operations while maintaining consistent and accurate communication with team members, providers, and patients.
- Assist with data collection for physical, psychological, social, and cultural dimensions of patients according to professional practice standards and institutional policy/procedure.
- Organize and prioritize daily work assignments to support patient needs, the interdisciplinary team, and operational efficiency.
- Provide for a safe environment and safe delivery of care.
- Perform administrative support functions.
- Maintain supplies and equipment.
- Demonstrate teamwork in the delivery of patient care.
- Reinforce patient/family teaching plan based on identified health education needs and the condition and age of the patient through approved educational materials or written instructions.
- Assist patients with care as needed for optimal health.
- Provide clinical support to licensed healthcare professionals during examinations and procedures.
- Perform administrative support responsibilities.
- Demonstrate teamwork in the delivery of patient care. Recognize the importance of time-sensitive issues.
- Assume responsibility for professional development of self and others according to departmental policy.
- High School Graduate or Equivalent
- No experience required
- American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS Certification required
- Meet one of the following required criteria to meet eligibility:
- Certified to practice as a Nurse Aide in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Passage of a nationally recognized and accredited PCT Certification exam
- Currently enrolled student nurses who have successfully completed the Medical/Surgical Clinical Experience and Didactic
- EMT certification
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Job requires frequently bending/stooping and driving (Home Health Aide only). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs and > 100lbs (Home Health Aide only). May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
