Job Summary:

As a Correctional Officer with the Georgia Department of Corrections, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of our correctional facilities. We are seeking highly motivated and dedicated individuals to join our team in this challenging and rewarding role.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED and any combination of training and experience that enables the applicant to meet the minimum standards of the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (P.O.S.T.).

Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who are 21 years of age or older. Additionally, preference will be given to applicants who possess one or more of the following: 1. One year of full-time experience as a uniformed officer in a correctional setting. 2. Completion of at least an associate's degree in criminal justice, psychology, sociology, or a directly related field.
