We are seeking a Carrier Business Development Manager to join our team at Spot Freight Inc. This role is ideal for individuals who are driven to succeed and have a passion for building strong relationships with carriers. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for negotiating rates and terms of freight movement and ensuring that our customers receive excellent service levels. Our goal is to provide an estimated salary of $70,000 - $100,000 per year, based on your performance and contributions to the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate and Secure Carriers: Procure, negotiate, and secure carriers to move available freight in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Build and Maintain Relationships: Develop and grow carrier relationships through lead generation, cold-calling, and referrals.
  • Analyze Market Conditions: Effectively analyze carriers and freight market conditions to best meet our customers' freight needs.
  • Meet Sales Targets: Achieve and exceed monthly sales margin expectations and ensure carrier service levels and KPIs are met.
  • Communicate Effectively: Proactively communicate with carriers and sales teams to fulfill commitments and exceed service expectations.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or management preferred.
  • Inside sales or account management experience preferred.
  • Skill Set: Strong negotiation skills, ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, organization, attention to detail, adaptability, and multi-tasking ability.
