Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Resident Care Assistant to join our team at Wheatfield Commons, a DePaul Senior Living Community. As a Resident Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing direct personal care and assistance to our residents, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct personal care and assistance to residents, including bathing, grooming, and oral hygiene.
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, such as dressing, feeding, and toileting.
  • Remind residents of meal times and monitor meal attendance.
  • Make beds daily and change bedding and linens as needed.
  • Perform rounds on each resident at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure their needs are met.
  • Document and report any concerns or changes in resident behavior or condition to the supervisor.
  • Assist relatives, guests, and visitors as needed, and provide a warm and welcoming environment for new residents.
  • Remind residents of medication times and assist with medication administration as needed.
  • Attend staff meetings and in-services to stay up-to-date on resident care and community policies.
  • Perform housekeeping duties and laundry as scheduled or requested.
  • Inspect building areas and furnishings for wear and defects, and complete maintenance requests as needed.
  • Assist with activity programs and events to promote resident engagement and socialization.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • CNA, HHA, or PCA certification preferred.
  • One year of work experience in a care-giving field desired.
  • Dependability, hard work, and a willingness to work as part of a team are essential.
  • Must have required references and a clean criminal record check.
  • Must have annual TB screening and Health Assessment completed.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
