We are seeking a skilled Construction Assistant to join our team at PuroClean of Kingston/Poughkeepsie. As a Construction Assistant, you will assist the management team in purchasing materials and delivering them to job sites. You will also be responsible for setting up jobs, keeping the job site organized, and breaking down at the end of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist management team in purchasing materials and delivering to job sites.
- Assist with setting up of jobs, keeping job site organized and breaking down at the end of the project.
- Perform basic punch list duties when needed, including drywall patching, painting, resetting plumbing and electric fixtures, and resetting trim.
- Communicate with management team with updates and progress throughout the day.
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge and skill to perform punch list items as listed above.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of building materials.
- Self-motivated.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally, politely, and respectfully with clients and co-workers.
- Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear.
- Vision abilities (with correction) including close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Able to work in all weather conditions.
- The employee will frequently be required to walk, stand, sit, bend, climb, reach, and use hands.
- The employee will regularly be required to crawl, kneel, and lift and/or move objects in excess of 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual Spanish preferred.
- Valid NYS Driver's License.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Punctuality and reliability.
