Position Overview:
The Machining Specialist will play a crucial role in the production of unique and low-volume components utilizing diverse materials.
This position involves collaborating with clients throughout various stages, from initial concept to the final delivery of the product.
The Machining Specialist will operate CNC machinery and adhere to a range of inspection protocols to ensure quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC machines, including lathes and mills, performing multiple passes to achieve the desired specifications.
- Conduct quality inspections using standard shop tools and make necessary adjustments to materials, fixtures, or tooling.
- Select suitable material stock and manually cut it to the required dimensions.
- Load materials into CNC machines, apply necessary fixtures, and choose appropriate tooling.
- Fabricate fixtures and jigs to facilitate the machining process.
- Assist in the multi-phase CNC machining workflow, including troubleshooting, design modifications, and problem resolution.
- Prepare, inspect, finish, and assemble components using manual tools and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of machinery, tools, and workspace.
- Submit requests for material or supply replenishment.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience is not mandatory.
- Basic understanding of shop tools such as bandsaws, sanders, drill presses, and inspection equipment.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and file management.
- Strong communication skills are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Advanced Manufacturing or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with 3D printing or Additive Manufacturing technologies.
- Experience with 3-axis milling operations.
- Knowledge of industry-standard software such as Tebis, Mastercam, WorkNC, CATIA, or AutoCAD.
- Background in polymer or metal model fabrication.
- Understanding of G&M code editing using machine controllers.
- Basic skills in manual grinding techniques (ID/OD, surface grinding, rotary), honing, lapping, milling, and lathe operations.
- Knowledge in model making, mold fabrication, metalworking, and composites.
- Capability to learn and implement 3D scanning techniques for quality assurance.
- Willingness to obtain International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) certification.
