Job Description

A reputable Credit Union is in search of an experienced Teller (Branch Member Service Representative) to fulfill a temporary role with potential for extension.

Position Overview:

The Teller will play a crucial role in fostering, enhancing, and sustaining the credit union's rapport with its members by understanding their financial requirements, promoting relevant products and services, and delivering an exceptional service experience.

Key Responsibilities:

To excel in this role, the Teller must effectively manage both routine and unique situations, guided by the oversight of a manager:

  • Engage with members proactively to create a welcoming service atmosphere through a courteous and supportive demeanor.
  • Inform and promote the credit union's offerings that align with members' financial goals.
  • Efficiently handle member transaction requests across all credit union products and services.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues from various departments and branches to ensure optimal service delivery. Maintain professionalism and nurture positive relationships both internally and externally.
  • Develop and uphold a thorough understanding of the credit union's offerings, ensuring adherence to relevant Federal and State regulations, credit union policies, and current promotions.
  • Perform additional related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School Diploma/GED required; Internal candidates must have at least 1 year of experience in a Representative I role, while external candidates should possess a minimum of 2 years in a similar position.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of Microsoft Excel is advantageous.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Job duties involve a mix of constant sitting and hand movements, with occasional standing and walking.
  • Ability to repetitively use a telephone and computer mouse and keyboard is necessary.
  • Must be capable of occasionally lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 15 lbs.

Compensation: Hourly Wage: $25 - $30
