About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Management Specialist to join our team at the State of Washington. As a key member of our Information Technology Services Division, you will play a critical role in supporting the governance framework for creating, testing, and maintaining complex database systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain data management policies and strategy to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data consumption needs and develop solutions.
  • Design, develop, and maintain reports through custom and BI solutions.
  • Work with IT teams to analyze and design, develop, test, normalize, install, and implement agency databases and data interfaces.
  • Develop and implement request handling and escalation policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • 6 years of professional experience in enterprise data governance and principles of data management and the data life cycle.
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Data Science, Information Management, Computer Science, or other closely related field.
  • 4 years of experience in standard software development life cycle, data management, data integration/backup, database development, and data performance optimization.
  • 3 years of experience in applications development, including experience in designing, developing, and maintaining applications using industry standard tools and development languages.
  • 2 years of experience in leading a team on medium to large scale development efforts.
