Research Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented individual to assist in research investigating the role of a cytoskeletal protein in embryonic development and malformation of the head and brain, in mouse and cellular models. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing research projects, day-to-day lab maintenance, and assisting investigators/researchers as directed by the Principal Investigator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist investigators/researchers in the lab on their research efforts, including animal husbandry, handling, dissection, cell culture, histology, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, imaging, standard molecular biology, and standard protein biochemistry.
- Collect and analyze data, and maintain detailed laboratory records.
- Participate in regular communication with the PIs via lab meetings and personal meetings.
- Generate data and its analysis for the preparation of published papers, as well as assistance on grant submissions and other documentation necessary for laboratory compliance.
- Follow established quality control and quality assurance policies and procedures, including appropriate documentation.
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Biology, Cell Biology, Life Sciences, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Work Experience: Associated experience in a basic science laboratory, particularly in molecular cell biology, including molecular cloning, cell culture, and animal handling.

- 2+ years of previous work experience in a research laboratory.
- Experience in microscopy, histology, confocal imaging, molecular biology, cell culture, as well as handling of laboratory animals, mouse gavage, mouse cardiac perfusion, and tail vein injection is preferred.
- Contribution to scientific publications and/or experience with manuscript preparation.
