Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Laboratory Technician to join our team at the University of Kansas Medical Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of technical duties involved in conducting standardized tests, experiments, and determinations in support of research-oriented activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform histological processes such as fixation, decalcification of hard tissues, processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining.
  • Participate in other laboratory experiments such as cell culture, Western blotting, animal procedures, tissue collection and processing, genotyping, and other assigned tasks.
  • Assist the Principal Investigator with laboratory management and manuscript preparation for publication under supervision.
  • Collaborate with research teams to design and implement experiments, collect and analyze data, and present findings.

Requirements:

Education: Associate degree in histology, biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline, or a combination of education and relevant experience may substitute for degree on a year-for-year basis.

Experience: Experience or knowledge in clinical or basic science research, with a strong background in histological techniques and laboratory management.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Experience: At least one year of laboratory research experience in histological techniques.

Skills:
  • Histological processes, laboratory experiments, laboratory management, and manuscript preparation.
  • Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and data management.
