Your Role
In the capacity of an Auto Claims Adjuster, you will play a crucial role in investigating, assessing, and resolving auto and general liability claims for members of the TASB Risk Management Fund. Your engagement will be vital in delivering exceptional claims services, managing a portfolio of minor to moderately complex claims. This position supports a hybrid work model.
Daily Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough investigations into coverage and losses, assess damages, establish reserves, and negotiate settlements for moderately complex claims.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource for fellow adjusters, particularly those with less experience.
- Communicate coverage issues and decisions effectively to school district leadership.
- Collaborate with colleagues and claims management to develop strategies for claim resolution.
- Prepare and present subrogation claims to relevant insurance entities and third parties.
- Contribute to the mission of the Risk Management Fund by consistently providing high-quality service to our members.
- Deliver exemplary customer service to members, claimants, and legal representatives throughout the claims process.
- Conduct investigations to verify coverage, liability, and damages in accordance with applicable agreements.
- Assess and negotiate total loss settlements with members, third-party claimants, and insurance providers.
Education and Experience
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- A Texas Adjuster's License relevant to your responsibilities is necessary.
- Two to three years of experience in insurance or risk management is preferred.
- Familiarity with insurance industry practices, particularly regarding claims against governmental entities.
- Understanding of Governmental Immunity and the Texas Tort Claims Act.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively to manage caseloads and responsibilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of traffic laws, negligence, tort actions, and medical terminology.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications, claims management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
