Overview:

The Maintenance Engineer, Level 1, plays a crucial role in ensuring that the property is kept in optimal condition at all times, minimizing disruptions for guests and staff.


Responsibilities:
1. Conduct repairs on the hotel's air conditioning systems, including filter changes, coil cleaning, and motor replacements.

2. Perform routine maintenance on all equipment, such as boilers, chillers, and HVAC systems.

3. Take necessary readings on equipment to ensure proper functioning.

4. Test cooling towers and document findings.

5. Replace and program televisions as required.

6. Change light switches, receptacles, bulbs, and fixtures.

7. Carry out furniture repairs.

8. Replace and fix pumps as needed.

9. Address plumbing issues, including clogged drains and pipe repairs.

10. Read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.

11. Trace and repair various water lines.

12. Troubleshoot and fix kitchen equipment.

13. Maintain records of repairs and preventive maintenance.

14. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes.

15. Test, clean, and repair swimming pools and spas.

16. Paint designated areas as necessary.

17. Repair and finish drywall.

18. Fix various wall coverings.

19. Repair and program the hotel's electronic lock systems.

Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with experience in a hotel or related field.

At least one year of relevant experience is preferred.

Trade school or college coursework in a related field is advantageous.

Flexibility and the ability to work long hours may be necessary.


This position involves heavy work, requiring the ability to exert over 100 pounds of force occasionally, over 50 pounds frequently, and over 20 pounds regularly. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for interacting with employees and guests in a courteous and service-oriented manner.

Strong listening skills are necessary to understand and address concerns raised by employees and guests.

The ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines is crucial.

Approach all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly and service-oriented manner.

Attendance at all required meetings and training sessions is expected.


Maintain regular attendance in accordance with company standards, which may vary based on hotel needs.

Uphold high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the appropriate uniform and nametag.

Adhere to company standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient hotel operations.

Maximize productivity efforts, identify problem areas, and assist in implementing solutions.

Effectively handle problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and resolving issues as necessary.

Understand and apply complex information from various sources to achieve objectives.

Be willing to cross-train in other hotel-related areas.

Maintain confidentiality of information.

Demonstrate initiative by anticipating guest or operational needs.

Perform additional duties as requested by management.
