Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Faculty Member for our Basic Life Support Training Center at MD Anderson Cancer Center. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in life support training and education, with the ability to conduct courses and serve as a content expert in various areas.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct American Heart Association courses and serve as a content expert in Basic Life Support (BLS), HeartSaver (HS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS).
  • Maintain compliance with AHA guidelines, coordinate instructors, provide customer service, and maintain the program in accordance with the Program Administration Manual (PAM).
  • Participate in community training and programs for the prevention of heart attack and stroke.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot equipment required for course delivery, ensure training materials and equipment are up-to-date, and maintain accurate records of course scheduling, attendance, and completion certificates.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Fulfill Instructor Role for Advanced Level American Heart Association Courses.
  • Fulfill Instructor Role for Non-AHA Advanced Level Courses.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience in a related healthcare occupation.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and ability to become certified as an American Heart Association Basic Life Support instructor within 90 days of job entry.
