About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Data Scientist to join our team at MD Anderson Cancer Center. As a key member of our research laboratory, you will play a critical role in analyzing single-cell multiome and spatial transcriptomics data to uncover novel insights into cancer biology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement computational pipelines for bioinformatics and statistical analyses of single-cell RNA-Seq, ATAC-Seq, and spatial transcriptomics data.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design experiments and analyze data from various single-cell platforms.
  • Maintain knowledge of the latest bioinformatic approaches and sequencing technologies, especially in the context of single-cell genomics.
  • Present research findings at multidisciplinary project meetings and prepare scientific publications for co-authorship.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Computational Biology, or related field.
  • Two years of experience in scientific software development or industry analysis, with a strong background in bioinformatics and programming languages such as R and Python.
  • Demonstrated experience with genomic technologies and analysis of data generated by these technologies.
  • Familiarity with High Performance Computing and Unix scripting languages.
