The Mount Sinai Health System is actively seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant to support its Peri-Operative Services within the Neurosurgery department. This role is based at a prominent tertiary care facility known for its comprehensive trauma care and diverse patient population.
Role Responsibilities
The selected candidate will engage in a full-time capacity, with a flexible schedule that includes day and night shifts. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting thorough pre-operative assessments and preparing patients for surgical interventions.
- Collaborating with various surgical specialties to streamline surgical processes.
- Providing critical bedside assistance during surgeries, particularly with advanced surgical technologies.
- Managing post-operative care, including evaluations and treatment plans.
- Responding to medical emergencies and facilitating patient transfers as necessary.
- Performing suturing and managing complex injuries.
- Completing necessary documentation and obtaining consents for surgical procedures.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current registration as a Physician Assistant in New York State.
- Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.
- Strong analytical skills for effective diagnosis and treatment.
