Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team at Community Access Services. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) across various locations within our service area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel between residential group homes in the community to provide direct care and support to individuals with IDD.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, and mobility support.
  • Support skill-building activities to foster independence and personal development.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation of daily activities, care provided, and any incidents or observations.
  • Work collaboratively with other DSPs, supervisors, and team members to provide comprehensive support.
  • Follow specified ISPs to enhance the quality of life for individuals served.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to fulfilling short notice staffing requests and supporting team goals.
  • Fulfill mandatory overtime, up to 48 hours, ensuring availability to contribute to urgent needs.
  • Prioritize the safety and well-being of the individuals you work with.
Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Prior experience in a similar role or working with individuals with IDD.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and a compassionate attitude.
  • Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting and transferring clients.
