Patient Access Representative II

Job Summary:
Serves as the primary point of contact for patients, responsible for registering and financially clearing patients for service delivery. This role requires excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greets patients and family members, obtains and/or verifies relevant information for registration and financial clearance.
- Enhances the patient experience by serving as the customer service point of contact at the point of service.
- Manages patient data in registration systems, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Works effectively in multiple computer systems, including patient registration/accounting systems, telephone consoles, and document imaging.
- Provides excellent verbal and written communication and active listening skills.
- Accurately and attentively maintains and documents data in patient registration systems.
- Decision making and problem-solving skills are essential for this role.
- Ability to work concurrently on a variety of tasks/projects in a diverse environment.
- Meets or exceeds targeted customer service, productivity, and quality standards.
- Computer proficiency skills are required.
- Confidentiality is essential for this role.
Requirements:
- HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- 1 year of recent relevant experience
- General knowledge of patient access, financial counseling, functions in acute, and non-acute settings
- Working knowledge and understanding of insurance and medical terminology
- Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA) and Consent Laws knowledge
