Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Financial Analyst for the Cardiology Practice plays a pivotal role within the Administration department, serving as a vital resource for internal clients. This position is responsible for enhancing operational processes and ensuring accurate reconciliation of financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for the San Diego Cardiac Center.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Document monthly journal entries in the general ledger for designated locations.
  • Oversee the month-end closing activities.
  • Assist in processing accounts payable transactions.
  • Facilitate the closing process by generating revenue reports and financial statements.
  • Reconcile balance sheets and cash accounts effectively.
  • Prepare monthly operational statements for various locations and ensure timely submission of financials.
  • Support the preparation of additional reports as requested by management.
  • Conduct monthly financial analysis for multiple entities.
  • Compile semi-annual productivity reports for providers and calculate bonuses.
  • Input physician bonuses into payroll systems.
  • Communicate any issues to the CEO or HR Manager as necessary.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance overall team performance.
  • Represent the San Diego Cardiac Center and its staff with professionalism and respect.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

CORE COMPETENCIES:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a corporate or public accounting environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet internal financial deadlines.
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as Sage, PeopleSoft, Quickbooks, or PowerBI.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with locations and vendors.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently.
  • Proficient in interpreting financial records and reports.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
