Job Overview:

The Cleaning Team Member plays a vital role in ensuring a pristine and secure environment within the club, under the guidance of the Assistant General Manager. This position requires positive interactions with prospects, members, guests, and staff to foster an enjoyable atmosphere. The Cleaning Team Member is particularly tasked with the upkeep and sanitation of locker rooms during assigned shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver an exceptional fitness experience to every member consistently.
  2. Maintain cleanliness across all club areas, including entrances, exits, outdoor spaces, locker rooms, equipment, and flooring.
  3. Welcome members and guests with a friendly demeanor, assisting them with their needs.
  4. Address member inquiries and locker room concerns in a courteous manner, escalating issues as necessary.
  5. Understand and apply Safety Data Sheets to ensure safety for both staff and patrons.

Additional Duties:

  1. Clean and service club facilities and exercise equipment.
  2. Provide outstanding customer service to all members, guests, and visitors.
  3. Ensure the entrance and lobby areas are always presentable.
  4. Maintain cleanliness and stock supplies in the locker rooms.
  5. Process and fold laundry to ensure a steady supply of towels.
  6. Respond promptly and professionally to any cleanliness or safety concerns.
  7. Report maintenance issues to the Housekeeping Supervisor or General Manager.
  8. Adhere to company and OSHA standards for supplies and storage.
  9. Utilize appropriate safety gear when handling hazardous materials.
  10. Participate in all required meetings and training sessions.
  11. Complete assigned paperwork accurately.
  12. Follow established employee conduct and ethical standards.
  13. Support club procedures related to facilities, services, programs, and emergencies.
  14. Perform additional tasks as assigned.
  15. Be available for morning, evening, and weekend shifts as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Strong work ethic, including punctuality, organization, and attention to detail.
  2. Ability to maintain a friendly, enthusiastic, and positive attitude.
  3. Professional appearance and demeanor.
  4. Confidence in building new relationships quickly.
  5. Capacity to learn and apply new skills effectively.
  6. Ability to multitask and thrive under pressure.
  7. Basic knowledge of cleaning supplies and equipment.
  8. Understanding of cleanliness and sanitation standards.

Experience and Education:

  1. High school diploma or GED preferred.
  2. Six months of commercial cleaning experience preferred.
  3. CPR/AED certification preferred.

Physical Requirements:

This role involves various physical activities, including but not limited to:

  1. Climbing ladders and stairs.
  2. Bending and kneeling.
  3. Moving about on foot to complete tasks.
  4. Exerting force to lift and move objects.
  5. Performing repetitive motions with hands and arms.
