Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in supporting the design and implementation of mechanical and plumbing systems, particularly for educational and governmental projects. The Mechanical Project Engineer will collaborate closely with a seasoned team to ensure the successful execution of energy-efficient solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct load assessments and operational evaluations.
  • Perform field assessments for system layouts and documentation.
  • Utilize selection software for equipment sizing and vendor collaboration.
  • Create HVAC and plumbing schematics using AutoCAD.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines including Architectural, Civil, and Structural.
  • Develop detailed designs and schedules.
  • Review and assess project submittals.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and participate in construction meetings.
  • Oversee project close-out processes.
  • Assist in building evaluations and existing system analyses.
  • Stay updated on relevant codes and standards.
  • Participate in client presentations and interviews as needed.
  • Engage in client outreach when appropriate.
  • Attend industry seminars and presentations to remain informed on current technologies.
  • Involvement with professional organizations such as ASHRAE and USGBC is encouraged.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in the HVACR sector with a focus on Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel; familiarity with Trace 700 is a plus.
  • Experience with additional design software is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Pro, Bluebeam, or similar tools is preferred.
  • Ability to conceptualize and execute system designs from inception to completion.
  • Self-motivated, innovative, and organized with strong interpersonal skills.
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Professional certifications are encouraged but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to travel as needed; a valid driver's license is essential.
  • Experience with Design-Build or Guaranteed Savings Projects is a plus.
  • Background in K-12 and public sector engineering projects is beneficial.
